Learning the word relax

Hi friends!

So this weekend {for me} involved zero plans and I loved every single second of it.  Friday was the longest/tiring day for me. I had work, then did a few errands, Dr. appointment, then drove an hour to Maryland to hang with my best friend and favorite redhead, Lauren. I hate that she's an hour away, but the drive isn't too bad. We did the dinner thing, then of course blew all of our money away  walked the mall, and then devoured probably the BEST gelato I have ever tasted in my life.

This candle was not going to NOT be purchased.  My house smells incredible!

 { Bath and Body Works}

My friend has been to Italy and she basically told me that what we had was very close to the real deal. Our flavors included Sweet Potato, Apple Caramel, Apple pie, Amaretto Chocolate Chunk, Triple Vanilla,  and I think one of us had the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cup.  Amaze balls.

After a fun night of much needed girl time and being chatty Cathy's, I finally left around midnight.  I was going to stay the night, but the hubby went camping with the guys and I had Sam.  It was much less of a hassle to bring the pup. Needless to say, I was so exhausted after such a long day and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

When I woke up Saturday morning, I thought it would be smart to just, take. my. time. You see, having a Type-A personality, I just always have it in me to "get stuff done" or think " the faster this gets done, the better."  That's great and all, but this weekend was the first in a looooooong time that I said, what the hell is the rush? I literally had ALL day.  I stayed in bed until around 11am and just lay there, playing with Sam. I had tons of laundry to do, so I took a quick drive to CVS, picked up only what I needed...detergent..{ so rare}, and came right back home and took care of that.  I watched some Real Housewife stuff on the couch until around 1ish and felt a small burst of energy and went with it.

I cleaned a good amount in the house. I was then famished but didn't feel like food shopping. We had NOTHING in the house.  I used up what I had from pantry and fridge and made a mac and cheese casserole thing.  It was alright.  Nothing special and I was a little annoyed.

I tried to get creative but it didn't pan out.  Oh well.

The weather was chilly all day and rainy and cloudy.  A perfect RELAX day.  After cleaning, I took a nice hot shower and just relaxed on the couch the rest of the day. It was so liberating. I also never used my laptop, and only used my phone when texting with people here and there.  It felt great.

I did binge on the last of the caramel candies, and had a few sour patch kids. Oh, and then of course some ice cream.  Saturday really was picture perfect.

Sunday the hubby got home and he was of course exhausted and so was I!  Go figure I relax for an entire day basically, and Sunday I felt like a Mack truck hit me. I stayed in bed until Noon!!  You guys...I honestly have not remained in bed until Noon since I was probably 20 or 21.  Wow.  Still, I realized I took my time. I kind of love that.  But most of the day I did not want to move.  Gary and I watched two of our Netflix movies.  I fell asleep for most of the one, and then after both movies, Gary passed out for a good three hours.  I got my second wind again around 7pm. Since I didn't go food shopping all weekend, and we had no milk; I wanted cereal badly and decided to go to Target.  It's closer and some of their items are cheaper than even Shop rite.  I was in and out within an hour and got lots of goodies for the week.

I was a little disappointed that they were all out of pumpkin pie coffee creamer. Meh.

After cereal, I wanted some cream cheese and all the bagels a bagel thin.  It was yummy. I am now savoring my cold glass of apple cider.     { fatty over here!! } That wasn't on the list, but I had to get it.  Excuses?  I'm at Target and it's Fall.  I also have not had a glass of it yet

Sometimes you really do need to literally do nothing. This weekend was one of those weekends and my only gripe is that I wish it lasted longer.  It felt great!

How was your weekend?! What did you do?

I have moments where I cannot believe we are almost into freakin' November and BAM!  The holidays will soon be upon us.  I'm ready but I'm also so not ready.  Target of course had a few trees and decor in the back; you know, behind all of the Halloween stuff.

 I hope Monday treats you well!
