31

Ugh.  Another year. Another birthday. I know we all must go through this, but turning 31 just seems to be a bit of a doozy in my eyes.  I turned the big 3-0 last year , and I was actually looking forward to it!  I guess because I did have babies on the brain, and I was excited for this new chapter/decade in my life.  Though, babies on the brain was before my surprise birthday party; not during. Wine. Lots of wine and dancing if I remember, was strictly on my mind that night. :)

Gary put together the entire surprise party and did a STELLAR job!  I was completely thrown off and totally surprised!  It was such a nice time...clearly.

Random, but I did love my bangs here, but never again.  Pain in the ass to manage.

I think I had about 3 bottles of wine myself that night. And maybe a bite of pasta and cake.  Thankfully, I did not get sick. haha.

The 'plan' was that I had told Gary all I wanted for my 30th was to have a nice dinner with close friends. I love hibachi's and Japanese food and Gary made reservations for us and a few close friends the Saturday night before my actual birthday. Keep in mind, the entire day, all I could think about was Japanese food. I was craaaaaaving it. We planned on just meeting everyone at the restaurant and so I didn't think anything of it when my mother-in-law called Gary's phone a few minutes before we left for the restaurant. He asked me if it was okay if we stopped over their house really quick so that she could give me my birthday present.  It was on the way...so, why not?

We got there and it was dark inside.  I really thought nothing of it and normally my in-laws have there lights out toward the front of their house anyway.  We walked in and I remember just seeing tons of floating heads and a huge SURPRISE was shouted out loud!  It was great and I cried, naturally. Gary invited a good amount of our family and friends and there was about 30-35 people.  It was so wonderful to see everyone. It was such a great time and probably the best birthday ever!

He got me. Got me GOOD.

I'm 31 today. Another year older...big whoop.  However, I'm very thankful for the life I have and looking forward to the new year!  We can't wait to meet our baby girl!  { I'm due 2/25 but I secretly think it'd be cute if she was born on Valentine's day and  I don't know why.  That may be a little too early...but ya never know}.

My favorite kind of cake is chocolate with butter cream frosting or strawberry shortcake. Just an FYI if you feel like making me something. :)

How do you feel about birthdays?  Do you mostly embrace them?

Any BIG birthdays this year?

Tonight Gary and I are doing dinner plans and then going to see the new movie remake of Carrie.  I love scary movies so I can't wait.

Hope today treats you well! :)
