Hey there and happy Friday!
This week still felt long and crazy even though I took off on Monday. Why does it always seem to go that way? Such is life. It wasn't that I
Monday: Took a personal day. Slept in a little. Got a few things around the house crossed off the
Tuesday: Long and busy day at work. I got home around 6:30ish, went to the gym and actually had a decent workout. But I was really tired and so not in the mood. I lasted a whole thirty minutes on the treadmill. I know, that's so rookie like, right? I hear ya. But I was proud of myself because I have not lasted that long on the treadmill or any cardio machine for that matter in at least 10 months. My "goal" more recently, or focus I should say, has been to just do about 15 minutes of cardio and then 30 minutes of squats and free weights. I can't for the life of me recall if we had dinner or not. Dang! I only remember coming home from the gym. Like I said, it was a long day.
Wednesday: Another long day at work, but it was much slower. {which makes an already long day, plain old worse}. The hubby works from home on Wednesdays (he has an hour and fifteen minute drive to work), or more, depending on the traffic. I got home again around 6:30pm and we got to meet a baby that night! A newborn baby! Our friends had a beautiful baby girl a week ago today and she was simply precious. A few of our other friends (and one who is due to give birth to a baby girl in about two more weeks)!! were at the house and we had cookies and pizza. I had once slice of pizza (I usually can tear up 4 slices , easy). But I was all about this new baby girl and couldn't stop the goo-goo, ga-ga's. :-)
We were there I guess about two hours. We came home and I ate a handful of goldfish and watched T.V. until I passed out. Sounds so glamorous, doesn't it?
We got home and watched some movies and split a bottle of yummy red wine. Much needed after this week!
See all the beautiful pickles below. I stole Gary's pickles. He's not a fan.
Dinner was, as usual, AMAZING!
(provolone cheese, BBQ sauce, the best coleslaw ever, and pickles. AKA The Dallas Burger!)
Friday: It's my shorter day and I am in love with them! I get home around 1:30pm which always leaves plenty of room for either a workout, a good nap, food shopping, or cleaning. I mix my choices up each week. I'd like to hit up the gym and them do some cleaning. Gary's cousin is coming over for a visit to see our house for the first time, (we've lived here for almost four years now), and she will meet Sammy, too. She's a busy bee nurse who travels a lot and on top of that, goes to school for something even better that I cannot pronounce. She's finished in May!! We see her once a year at either Christmas or Thanksgiving. It's sad, because she's awesome. Then we are all going out to dinner somewhere and then plans after that are up in the air. We don't have any weekend plans. On Saturday I hope to try a yoga class I've been wanting to try for two weeks now but haven't been able to make the classes yet. I even purchased my very first yoga mat at target the other night. {whatever night that was, I can't recall}. I'm excited to try it! Side Note: I ONLY bought this mat. I bought what I needed. For the first time in my life. At Target!! I am super proud of myself!
So, real quick my dear friends. As it's 11:15 and I am pretty darn tired, or it could just be the wine.
This wine ice cream? Um, wow! I simply poured a little bit of my Pino Noir on top of vanilla bean ice cream and mixed well. SO GOOD! You'll just have to do the same. It was so refreshing and fruity. And I adore vanilla bean so it was a perfect combo on the taste buds.! I get creative when I drink. Doesn't everyone? :-)
I guess you could call it a 'dessert wine.'
Delish! I wish you could have seen the very pale lavender color the ice cream had. ( night photos are a drag). Pretty food is even better!
How was your week? I want to hear about it!
Any weekend plans?
